The following is a part of a newsletter article written by the Rev. Karen Dumey reflecting on eleven years of ministry at Westminster.

I remember how Tori was a walking accident waiting to happen when she was five years old. I remember how our chill Max was a boy in  constant motion. I remember thinking how courageous Erica was to leave home in order to study in Austria during her junior year of high school. I remember teaching Max, John and Alex one of their scouting classes, as well as holding confirmation classes.

                I remember vacation bible school programs, particularly the one where Eric and Jeff dressed up as luchadores. I remember Kim’s elegant fundraising meals. I remember the children’s Christmas pageants, including the one where a twenty-something Patrick had to take part at the last moment.  I remember movie nights and game nights and all of the fun we had together. I remember how through our summer competitions I discovered just how competitive you are. I remember all of the beautiful music performed in the sanctuary. And I remember saying good-bye to people from the Rev. Douglas Scott to Gaylan Friesenborg. I remember so many wonderful things that happened during my eleven years here at Westminster.

        I will carry these memories with me forever.
